Counselling

reach

Our counsellors are skilled and trained therapists, however no counsellor can necessarily deal with every issue.

Where a counsellor feels unable to deal with a particular issue affecting a client, they will " Signpost " the client to someone who can.

It is important your counsellor works ethically and morally in the provision of counselling services. These qualities form a warranty of how you can expect to be looked after.

These include:-

  • Ability to show clients an understanding of their experiences from their perspective, and effective communication of this empathy to the client
  • Integrity in dealings with clients, a commitment to honesty and to coherent communications
  • Respect to be shown to clients and the feelings that they are experiencing
  • Effective and appropriate use of knowledge and skills
  • To be fair, open minded and non-judgmental in all dealings and decision making

Counselling is a professional service where training, personal qualities and industry guidelines all combine to ensure BACP Good Practice.

Have you had panicky feelings when you have felt as though you were going to explode or that the world is going to end? Was your heart beating ten to the dozen and your head thinking the worst? Have you experienced palpitations or woken up in the middle of the night?
